Our Founder

Our founder and CEO has practiced law for 50 years. He graduated from George Washington University Law School in 1972, and practiced law for all of his adult life, having only recently semi-retired. He was an Army JAG lawyer, worked as an attorney for the Federal Government, and then in large, prestigious law firms, going from Associate to Partner, before opening his own private practice. He served as a Member and then Chairman of the State Bar’s Committee of Bar Examiners in his home state. During some of those years, he also worked as a fully sworn police officer, reaching the rank of Lieutenant.

LocateMyWill.com is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. We do not write Wills or Trusts. We are a Will and Trust registration service.

Every day countless people die and their relatives have no idea if they had a Will or where it might be found. And if they do find a Will or Trust, how do they know if it’s the latest one?

But if you registered your Will or Trust on our site, your relatives will be able to determine where the Will or Trust can be located and which version is the latest. Each of our clients is given a secure, password protected, encrypted storage area on our site where they can answer numerous questions that we present, as well as provide their family with their thoughts, such as: burial or cremation; type of coffin; choice of cemetery; or where the ashes are to be scattered, religious Funeral or Celebration of Life.

Whether you have a Will or not, your family will need to know about the mortgage or the name of the landlord and when the payment is due; whether you have a public storage space, a Post Office Box, or a safe-deposit box at the bank. Is there a car payment due? What kind of funeral do you want? Any special thoughts for any special people? What happens to your pets? Who needs to be notified?

LocateMyWill.com is not competing with lawyers who write Wills and Trusts. We are a great resource for them. We don’t write Wills or Trusts or practice Estate or Probate law. We are strictly a registration and location site. A law firm that wrote a Will or Trust for a client20 years earlier might first learn of that client’s passing when a relative finds the law firm’s name on the LocateMyWill.com website.

The information you place on our site will not be given out by us to anyone. If you read our Privacy Policy, it begins, “We will not sell, lend, give, or share your private information with anyone for any reason.” Your information will be known only to those to whom you give your “Read-Only” password.

Our Web Servers Provide You With Security

We are using the most secure web servers we can find. We are hosted on managed, dedicated servers that are highly secure. All your data is encrypted using the latest technology. Our entire site is backed-up regularly at a very secure site distant from the server.

We Provide You with Two Passwords

Each of our clients is given two secure passwords to their private area on LocateMyWill.com: An “Account” password that allows full access to your account and your information, and a second “Read-Only” password that you can give to trusted family members, who will be able to view, but not modify, any of your information.
